About Claudia

CR Web PicClaudia Raack has spent a good portion of her career on a construction site.

Guiding clients throughout the construction process, Claudia is involved with the selection of building materials & the individual design details inherent with every new project. At other times she is searching her numerous resources for the highest quality materials for the best value & price. Working on renovation projects is a specialty in the interior design field.

Working on high-rise renovation projects is also a specialty due to the building’s requirements, space constraints, & limitations. From the very first project to the present project, Claudia has teamed with contractors to create interiors in homes & high-rises that meet the client’s criteria & lifestyles. Listening has always been an important factor in the design process for the interior plans.

Another must is to “let the space speak to you.” The design is created from within the space to enhance all of the unique architectural features. Nothing is forced or contrived if the design is inspired from the interior features.

In addition to the construction process, Claudia’s projects have included color consultation, space planning, custom tile designs, custom designed furniture, & creative design solutions for every project.

Claudia’s career led her to work with the Illinois Institute of Technology administration involved with the model units at the State Street Village Residence Hall, Hermann Hall offices, McCormick Student Village, Michigan Place Condominium, & other administrative offices on campus.

Interior design has been a lifelong passion. Fascinated with interiors & displaying artistic abilities led Claudia to attending the Chicago Art Institute as a child during summer vacations. As an adult, the decorative painting courses were completed at the Art Institute.

Attending Harrington College of Design in the beloved Fine Arts Building on Michigan Ave. was a natural transition. Additional classes at Roosevelt University in the Landmark Auditorium Building led to receiving a degree in Interior Design.

Where else can you attend classes in historical buildings, study Interior Design & count sail boats on Lake Michigan at the same time?

Claudia resides in the Chicago neighborhood, Lincoln Square, with her husband Karl Raack. Karl is an artist who has public & private murals throughout Chicago & the suburbs. Claudia & Karl have collaborated on many design projects which they both consider a bonus in their careers.
